The iconic image of Miller's ravaged, gritty, and beaten-down Batman debuted in Miller's The Dark Knight Returns storyline, which details an aged Batman who returns to crime-fighting. This piece is fairly similar to the cover for the second issue that shows a battered and tattered Batman. Ink over graphite with spots of whiteout on Bristol board with an oversize image area of 13" x 16". Light handling and edge wear, some creasing along the top of the image. Signed and in Very Good condition.
