Authentication
Once an artwork has been received at one of our Authentication Locations, it will be go through a series of checks by one of our experts to authenticate it as an original artwork by the artist, or artist/inker combination, generating a Condition Report and digital Certificate of Authenticity that will reside on the blockchain.
In time a machine learning AI system will be developed to analyse artworks against a dataset of works by the artist/inker combination to ascertain their originality, which will be able to identify forgeries.
Scanning
The artwork will be scanned at ultra high resolution to produce the most fully detailed image possible, enabling deep zoom functionality of the recorded image.
This will also become an asset for the owner in any future display environment or transaction scenario.
Tokenization
An in-house developed multi-factor authentication app will be used by our experts to tokenize the art. It will also be made available to artists and collectors as a free download from the Apple and Google App Stores to enable them to tokenize art at source. An image will be taken through the app from a specific detailed section of the high resolution scan that will be posterized into several colours that are then desaturated to a certain level known only to our system.
The numerical values will be used to generate a NFT hash token that will act as the fingerprint, or digital signature, of the image that will be recorded on the Comic Art Blockchain, which only the owner will have access to.
The result is that the image will be digitally tagged by the hash token, which will only relate to that specific artwork and be associated with the owner of the artwork.
Certification
Once the hash token artwork fingerprint tag has been recorded on the Comic Art Blockchain a digital certificate will be created that will be logged in the My Certified Artworks section of your account on the artSpydr platform.
The certified artwork will then be returned to its owner via signed for courier in the artSpydr branded packaging that it was shipped in to our Authentication Location.

Line illustration (India ink and blue pencil on paper) for the cover of the album published by Casterman Published in 1942. Slight tear at the top right outside the drawing. Slight tear at the bottom middle out of the design. Slight tear at the bottom left outside the drawing. Paper slightly yellowed, and slightly crumpled on both sides. The piece is generally in excellent condition.
