You definitely scored a winner. And your write up is just as good as the art. This is one of those pieces in collecting that you will treasure forever. Huge congrats!
Sometimes that wait is worth it and this is clearly one of those instances as this piece is absolutely magnificent. So happy to see this in your gallery. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Like Carly said, anticipation...Thank you! I was so excited to land this one.
Wow! I wondered how you'd be able to top your past acquisition, but I did not expect this, nor such a high quality example! There's really nothing I can add that you haven;'t already said yourself in the description, other than to say I echo your sentiments 100%. So wonderful, Jason, huge congratulations!
Yeah, I thought The Search was going to go a LOT longer. I was very lucky to happen upon a great page owned by a really awesome and patient CAF member. :) Thank you for the kind words.
FANTASTIC page in every respect!!! John Buscema was such a masterful visual story-teller... the variety of vantage points, the wonderful body language and posing, the variety of scale of the figures (Surfer a different size in every panel), the shapes of each element and how he overlapped and composed them, the depth he created using foreground/background elements... this wonderful page has it all!!! The only point I would differ with you on is on his best inker. While Adkins was unquestionably one Big John's very best on both the Surfer and Subby, I don't think anyone inked him as well as little brother, Sal... and I would put George Klein and Joe Sinnott right behind.
Yeah, both artists really brought their A game here. :) I actually struggled with that line in the write-up, but I couldn't shake that on this one series, I do prefer Adkins' inks. As I said, he only "pipped" him a bit there, imo. On the entire rest of his work, I greatly preferred Sal's inking. Thank you for the great comment!
What an amazing example of Neal's perfect layouts. Although everything on this page could be a highlight, what stands out to me is the technique he used to convey that action in the final panel - an amazing decision to incorporate a freeze frame effect.

Great action page, with great flow and motion. Definitely a keeper!Congrats!
The reflection on panel 2 is wonderful. I like that the thought balloons have to lead back to the first panel. Stilt-Man is way out of his element in the water and I would be more than happy to see where the story goes from here.

Still have to read the story. Currently I'm only at Daredevil #13. A long way to go to #67 😂😂😂.
well said so clear crisp character depictions got us all to relate and get into it and straight up love it.. Stoic vs. Chaotic in the earliest war or words between Cyclops and Wolverine
Whoa, this is a beautiful, super high contrast piece! Starting to think you may be just a little bit obsessed with the Micronauts though, John.
An effective cover for sure but I think it would've been cool if they included the diving board up top as opposed to keeping it out of the frame :) Digging the high contrast on this puppy, John - congrats!

Used to own this page, came out of a big collection from Florida. Great one!
That's one of the cooler things about this site. Seeing where your art came from, and where it goes. Thanks for the comment and info.

I couldn't agree more. CAF is great and this is a fantastic piece

The lighting is so good here! Color work is a cut above!
Agree 100 percent. I like the muted metallic sheen of Colossus, and the lighting off Wolverine's arms and trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles.

Love all the facial expressions into these characters. Awesome page. Thanks for sharing.
