Neal AdamsBatman#251 Cover The Joker Original Art (DC, 1973). Not just one of the most memorable Joker covers of all time, this debuted a new portrayal of the character that became the standard. The Joker had not appeared in a Batman comic since 1969, and here, Adams and writer Denny O'Neil "spearheaded the return of a more lethal than laughable Joker," as Paul Levitz put it. It is also the only Adams Joker cover of his original stint at DC.
"The Joker's Five-Way Revenge!" was the unforgettable story. It was hotly anticipated from the time it was announced that Adams was working on it, and the final product did not disappoint.
And while the Joker has been appearing in movies for 30 years now, he is ascending to even greater heights with his newly-released solo movie.
The missing paste-up at the bottom announced "Look Out, Gotham! The Joker's Back in Town!" Rendered in ink over graphite on Sparta cover stock Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The DC bullet and logo are a stat paste-up. Part of the price paste-up is missing from the top right. The board is toned, with some glue residue in places. In Very Good condition.
